Wetumpka, Alabama
This is the Coosa
Below Jordan Dam, the Coosa runs roughly 7.5 miles toward Wetumpka through a landscape of rocky shoals, islands and Class II-III whitewater.
This is Alabama's Fall Line, where the Piedmont meets the Coastal Plain. Along the way, the river passes the western edge of an 85-million-year-old impact crater and the site of the legendary Devil's Staircase.
Cypress and Spanish moss line a river shared by herons, egrets, bald eagles, osprey, turtles and an extraordinary diversity of fish.
Most people have no idea this exists in Alabama.
More Than Bass
Alabama bass are just the beginning. Freshwater drum eat flies with authority. Longnose gar offer a completely different challenge. Stripers and hybrids chase streamers through moving water.
The Coosa isn't a one-species river. We don't fish it like one either.
Built for This River
The Coosa doesn't give up its best water easily.
Shoals, rapids, islands and constantly changing water are part of fishing here. Our PowerDrifter is built for this river... shallow, rocky, technical and wild.
Getting there is part of the experience.
